Interesting SCOPH topics. 🧡 Ccheck IFMSA page to learn more about what are SCOPH and other Comittees ifmsa.org/standing-committees-2/ ) This included Mental Health 🧠, Antimicrobial Resistance topics & a global epidemic simulation. Our National Officer of Public Health - Samanta had a chance to attend "Rex Crossly" awards 🏆 ceremony and see many projects carried out by other Medical Students Associations. goo.gl/ox3jVF
For example this included topics like mental health among sex workers & HIV awareness in Zimbabwe and many many others. Just ask - we want to share!
IFMSA is about inclusiveness 🤲, they are in frontlines. President sessions included discussions on global priorities, Executive board candidates, bylaw change proposals (Oh, that already sounds complicated, just ask Patriks!). IFMSA is trying to make decisions in the best interest for students👩🎓, public and our better future though democratic process of voting 🗳️. Another topic was: "Interdisciplinarity. Can non-medical students running for positions in medical student associations (and to what extent they can be involved) ❓" Discussion arise about a survey made by IMCC-Denmark ( Student Association representig Danish medical students 🇩🇰) that showed that 54% of NMO's support 👍idea of non-medical students running for positions. LaMSA is sharing this with you for a reason. We have been planning some collaboration with other faculties for a long time 👨⚕️. It is not a secret anymore that LaMSA is ready to join forces for better Latvia! 💎

☕Morning in SCOPE team 💙 started with Candidate Debate , where Europe Regional Assistant Tanya was defending her candidature for SCOPE-Director position (highest office in Exchanges 🔝). The questions were tough, but we can reveal that she did well as get elected on Day 5. Parallel sessions provide participants with knowledge and skills needed fir important topics for NEOs (National Exchange Officier’s) : A)What is Social Accoutability 🏦 B) Evaluation and Impact Assesment ⚖️ C) Promoting Exchanges 🤸♀️
Write in comments which of these topics you would have attended if you were here? 🤷
At NMO Management sessions’ team focused on choosing and understanding priorities for the moment (Google: Paired comparison ranking method 👀) . Sometimes work in your NMO (e.g. LaMSA) may provide challenges 🤺 but then you must analyse the situation by learning new problem solving methods and solutions 💪. For example - SWOT Analysis method (google that too 👀). It teaches to identify one's Strengths ,Weaknesses, Opportunities & Treats (S, W, O & T). Sessions helped understanding how to better obtain and use input by filling up survey forms 📃, as well as evaluation and adjustment.
LaMSA does its best to provide you with projects and offer the opportunities🗣️ -- trainings, summer schools, conferences, meetings and news -- you deserve to reach your full potential !
Montreal keeps us motivated and inspired! ✨🤗🤩 These days bring us a lot of work, brainstorming and ideas to bring back home! 🇨🇦️🇱🇻️
🌐🤝SCOPE (Standing Comittee of Professional Exchanges) sessions had some exciting Small Working Groups (SWGs) on Accessibility of Exchanges, Emergencies in Exchanges amongst many more. As well as Regulation Change discussion to followed by very exciting poster fair, where Latvia is shining again! ✨Latvia in addition our National Exchange Officer - Alise was very inspired and enjoyed the tips on story telling used in Global Health shared by Brian W. Simpsons (Editor-in-chief of Global Health Now) ☝️🌐😍 www.globalhealthnow.org/
🌐🏘️SCOPH sessions started with a warm welcome and introduction followed by the August edition of own SCOPH-orange – tinted version of TED talks with resident experts and a session about #UniversalHealthCoverage. In Regional sessions I had a chance to present “Miega Dienas” to the public. First day in SCOPH team inspired our Officer of Public Health Samanta to look further.
🌐🕵️♀️"National Member Organization" Management session started with Strategic Planning. Each’s NMOs success is hidden under strategy, evaluation, follow up and keeping your work dynamic. Sometimes problems seem to go out of control but now we have first clear view. Then look for how to find a way to adjust plans to our members, how to solve the problem to reach closer to our goals, mission.
